This article by Guy Kawasaki is a little hard to wrap your head around at first, but his point is worth entertaining. Basically, especially in the beginning of a  relationship, it is always better to say YES instead of NO. He says that once you say no, you’re at a dead end, that no other options present themselves. If you say yes, then you have a whole new world of opportunity and options to explore. A YES helps a relationship grow. The cool part is, in order to do this, you have to assume that people are generally good and honest. This, Kawasaki says, is something that people appreciate in you.

What do you think? We often hear warnings against not being able to say no to people and then getting burnt out. Maybe Kawasaki is saying that saying yes doesn’t necessarily mean you accept the task, but  just that you say yes to negotiating.
