It’s important to reflect and be thankful for those who’ve been there for you as a campus leader. Who are the people in your life that raise you to greater success? Who has been there for you through the best and worst times this semester? As you finish studying for your last final exam of the Fall semester, don’t hesitate to thank friends, family, and other campus leaders who have changed your life. Reach out to the transformational leaders around you! Reach out to the 5s on the Dance Floor of your life.
Here are the 5s on the Dance Floor of my life:
Susan Luchey
Susan sits as the Director of the Blue Hen Leadership Program at the University of Delaware. During my college career, she has worn many hats: mentor, boss, and even “college mom”. Susan is a 5 on the Dance Floor of Life because she encourages those around her to grow and develop as leaders, professionals, and people. She’s a huge role model for me, even though she loves the Pittsburgh Steelers 🙂
Matthew is the Assistant Director of the Blue Hen Leadership Program at the University of Delaware. I have found that he is also one of the most knowledgeable people when it comes to leadership, trivia, technology, and just straight up life advice. Matt is a 5 on the Dance Floor of Life because he challenges others to think outside the box while helping them reach success. He is also world-famous for his baking skills!
Tom Krieglstein
We all know Tom, the CEO of Swift Kick and mastermind behind Dance Floor Theory. Tom truly lives by his life mission of building communities where each person feels welcomed, connected, and engaged. I can attest to that as the virtual intern for Swift Kick. I once looked up to him as a professional speaker who engaged thousand of students, and now I look up to him as a boss, mentor, and friend.
Sabina is the Community Manager of Swift Kick and the Student Affairs Collective. I always look forward to working with her on any project because there is never a shortage of productivity, excitement, and fun. Sabina is a true 5 on the Dance Floor of Life because she engages those around her to put forth their best work. Even as a virtual intern who lives several hours away from the office, Sabina makes me feel at home while I’m on a conference call with the team.
If I was going to create the “Fantastic Four” of Campus Leadership, this would be my lineup!
Now, this is an opportunity to reach out to those who have helped you develop as a campus leader by writing them a sweet message. Tell them why they are awesome (a.k.a. 5s on the Dance Floor of Life!)
