If you could give the SK community advice about being a better community member what would it be?
Here’s what we had to say!
Tom’s advice: The more you put in, the more you get out.
When I joined an entrepreneur’s group, I jumped right into the executive board and asked for ways in which I could help out. I quickly met a ton of people. I became known within the community. I also gained back so much more value than I was putting in. In fact, the more I put in, the more I gained.
Melissa’s advice: Take Time to Smell the Roses
You work hard. We know it, you know it, and your teammates know it. Every now and then we get so used to working hard all the time that we forget to stop and enjoy what we created. So rather than briskly moving from one project to another, take an opportunity to step back, admire and acknowledge your work.
Sabina’s advice: Make every day a random acts of kindness day
Hold doors for strangers when they are carrying something big. Wish the person in the elevator with you a great day. Do simple acts of kindness like these. That is how you become a better community member.
Sami’s advice: Be understanding with others
Within our communities we obviously have different kinds of people. Not everyone is the same; we definitely do not all think the same way. So, when talking to other members in your community, make sure you are understanding and really think about what they are saying.
Dee’s advice: Be honest about what’s going on in your life , outside of work, and school commitments
Open Doors, Open Hearts style. It’s really magical how much people flourish when they feel like they’re heard and understood, and you share the same trust with them.
