No, we are not a carpentry company. But this past Quarterly Retreat on Monday (planned by myself and Melissa for the first time!), we learned a great lesson about closing doors.
What we ended up with was a game night that led to so many laughs and moments of friendship that we were glad it had rained. You know how they say when one door closes, another opens? That’s exactly how I feel about how Monday went. Melissa and I were determined to make an epic day, regardless of weather. We didn’t cry too long over the closed door, we turned around and ran through the newly opened one.
My favorite game was our own brand of Swift Kick Mad Libs. We took our mission statement, bios, and other material from our website and made some words blank. What resulted was such a ridiculous paragraph each time that I was actually crying from laughing so hard. Other games included: running charades, drawing telephone, heads up, and loaded questions. Truly, this was the perfect ending to a day of hard work, Swift Kick dance moves, and cupcakes. We are pretty lucky to work for Swift Kick.
Oh, and then we had dinner at Ninja New York. It’s casual.
Other highlights of the day:
Another successful retreat to start another amazing quarter- check!
